Candan ÖZTÜRK

Prof. Dr. Candan ÖZTÜRK was born in İzmir – Türkiye, completed her primary, secondary and high school education in İzmir. In 1982, she graduated from Ege University, School of Nursing. After graduation, between 1983-1991 she worked at Izmir State Opera and Ballet House in Izmir as a nurse. She completed her English language education in American Cultural Association Language Schools; 1984 and Academic Western Language Institute; 1991. She has master (1984) and doctorate (1997) degrees in Pediatric Nursing from the Ege University, Health Sciences Institute.

Prof. Öztürk worked at Dokuz Eylul University from 1991 to 2012 with different titles; lecturer, assistant professor and associate professor and she retired in 2012. In Dokuz Eylul University, she worked as Head of Pediatric Nursing Department, Erasmus & Bologna coordinator and Contact Person for COHEHRE (Consortium of Institutes of Higher Education in Health and Rehabilitation in Europe).

Between 2012-2016 Prof. Öztürk worked for Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University and established Nursing Department there and worked as Head of Nursing Department, Vice Dean, Erasmus University Coordinator and Senator of Faculty of Health Sciences.

Since 2016 September, Prof. Öztürk is working for Near East University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing Department.

Prof. Öztürk’s special interests are Pediatric Nursing, School Nursing and Transcultural Nursing as well as general nursing education.  She is one of the pioneer members of ETNA (European Transcultural Nurses Association) and worked as Secretary first two period and she is still representative person for Turkiye.

Prof. Öztürk published many national and international articles, books & chapters, organized national and international congress, meetings.
