Prof. Dr. Ümran DAL YILMAZ

Ümran Dal Yılmaz was born in Lüleburgaz in 1965. She graduated from GATA
Health Vocational High School in 1983 and Atatürk University School of Nursing in
1989. She completed her master&s degree in Surgical Nursing at GATA Health
Sciences Institute in 1994 and her doctorate in the same field in 2002. In 1996, she
completed her second masters degree in Emergency Aid and Rehabilitation at Gazi
University. In 2004, she was in America to observe nursing services and education
at Johns Hopkins University Hospital and the School of Nursing. When she returned,
she established the Education Coordinatorship at GATA Nursing Organization. In
2005, she was appointed as an assistant professor at Gazi University School of
Nursing.
In 2006, she was an observer at Kent State University School of Nursing and various
hospitals (University Hospitals of Cleveland, Robinson Memorial Hospital, Summa
Hospital, Regency Hospital) in the United States. She started working at Near East
University Faculty of Health Sciences in 2008 and served as the Head of the
Department of Nursing, Deputy Dean and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Nursing,
which was established during her term. In 2013, she was successful in the associate
professorship exam organized by the Interuniversity Council of the Republic of
Turkey and received the title of associate professor. In 2019, she received the title of
Professor and was appointed as the dean of the Faculty of Nursing, where she
carried out the founding work. Participating as a speaker in international and national
congresses and symposiums related to her field, Dal has international and domestic
articles published in various journals, chapter authorship in books, patient education
books and TÜBİTAK Foreign Publication Incentive Award. She currently serves as
the Dean of the Near East University Faculty of Nursing.
