She was born in 1986 in Karşıyaka, Izmir. She graduated from the Department of Science and Mathematics at Karşıyaka Anatolian High School in 2004, and from the Department of Nursing at Celal Bayar University in 2008 as the second in her department, and completed her master's degree in the Nursing Department of the same university in 2010. Her thesis topic for her master's degree was 'Examination of Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors in Terms of Transcultural Differences'. During her academic education, she worked as a nurse in private hospitals, primarily in emergency services. Between 2010 and 2011, she worked as a lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing, as a student internship application manager at Celal Bayar University Hospital, and in the same years, as a lecturer in the Elderly Care Program of Celal Bayar University Health Care Services Department, as a student internship application manager in nursing homes. She started working as a lecturer at Adnan Menderes University Söke School of Health between 2011-2014. She gave many lectures, participated in academic activities and events, and served as a member and coordinator of committees. During this period, she started her PhD program in the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing at Dokuz Eylül University Health Sciences Institute and graduated from this university as an Assistant Professor in 2017. The subject of her PhD thesis was ‘The Effect of Applications Based on Human Caring Theory on Sleep Quality and Blood Glucose Levels in Individuals with Type 2 Diabetes’. In 2014, she started working as a lecturer at Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing and completed her duty as an Assistant Professor here in 2018. She has taken active roles in a private hospital in Izmir between 2021-2025 as Education and Content Coordinator, Diabetes Education Polyclinic and Polyclinics Floor Responsible Nurse, Health Tourism Department Medical Interpreter, Turkish and English Websites Health Guide content writer and finally English Speaking Class Instructor for foreign patient reception staff. As of February 2025, she started working as an Assistant Professor at the Near East University Faculty of Nursing. Talaz has national and international academic studies, presentations and participations in numerous congresses and symposiums, and association activities. Her academic interests are diabetes and disease management, sleep problems and sleep training, nursing theories and models. Talaz has a 5-year-old son.
